
Ghanaian singer Wendy Shay has been crowned Artiste of the Year at the 2026 Ghana Music Awards USA (GMA-USA), adding another major honour to her growing list of achievements.
The award was presented at the 2026 edition of the GMA-USA, held on Saturday, August 8, at the Carnegie Centre in Princeton, New Jersey. The ceremony, themed “Music for the Stars,” brought together Ghanaian musicians, industry professionals and music lovers to celebrate excellence in Ghanaian music.

Wendy Shay emerged as the winner from a competitive Artiste of the Year category that included some of Ghana’s biggest music stars, such as Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, Diana Hamilton, Piesie Esther, Black Sherif, Sarkodie, Medikal and Kofi Kinaata.
Her nomination reflected her strong presence in Ghana’s contemporary music scene. She was also nominated for Afrobeats/Afropop Artiste of the Year and Most Popular Song of the Year for her collaboration “Crazy Love” with Olivetheboy.
The latest recognition further highlights Wendy Shay’s influence in Ghanaian music and her growing profile on the international stage.
The Ghana Music Awards USA continues to serve as a platform for celebrating Ghanaian musical talent both in Ghana and within the diaspora, with the 2026 edition featuring 35 award categories.
